This means that they take advantage of the magnets installed on the back of the iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone 14, iPhone 15, and iPhone 16. I can’t stress this enough: If you buy a case, make sure it’s a MagSafe case. We have some third party options in the case guide linked above. A normal iPhone case will weaken the pull of the magnet on the device and will not stick to the MagSafe accessory well.What is the point of MagSafe? You don’t have to worry about misalignment with the wireless charger, which means you won’t wake up to a dead iPhone. Technically, this perfect alignment means that the charger can provide faster 15-watt charging, but Apple has limited this perk to select products from a few brands. MagSafe is also available in the AirPods charging case (depending on your model). Apple AirPods and AirPods Pro with wireless charging case will work with almost any standard Qi wireless charging pad on the charger (like many third-party wireless earbuds), but if you have AirPods with MagSafe, you can connect them. to the Magnetic mountain as well. What is StandBy Mode and Nightstand Mode? It will see us bring two special modes in this guide: StandBy mode and Nightstand mode. What is it? Standby mode was introduced in iOS 17. When you put your iPhone on the charger in landscape orientation, it will turn the screen into a dock of sorts, showing the clock (with different designs you can choose from), photos from your library, or widgets. If you have an iPhone that supports always-on display, you can choose to have the display turn off automatically after a period of time when the iPhone is not in use or when the room is dark. Head to Settings > Standby to configure it. Nightstand mode has been on the Apple Watch for a long time. Basically, when the watch is sitting upright and charging, the watch face will stay on so you can tell the time. You can configure this on your Apple Watch by going to Settings > General > Nightstand mode.
