How to turn off notification summaries powered by Apple Intelligence

With iOS 18, Apple launched Apple Intelligence, which includes an AI-powered feature to summarize notifications. If you get a lot of notifications from one app, the feature summarizes the contents of all notifications in one card that appears on the lock screen. You can remove the stack after reading the summary, or tap to check individual notifications. However, these features are not always accurate. Sometimes, it leads to funny results, and other times it fails to correctly summarize the message content and includes visible inaccuracies. If you think the notification summary causes more confusion than it is useful, you can turn it off or customize it. On your iPhone/iPad Head to Settings > Notifications and tap the Notification Summary tab. There are two options: You can turn off AI-powered notification summaries for all apps by turning off the Notification Summary option at the top, or you can turn off notifications per app. On Mac Click on the Apple menu in the upper left corner and go to System Settings > Notifications. Click the Summarize Notifications tab, then turn off Summarize Notifications. As with iPhone/iPad settings options, you can turn off notification summaries for selected apps. There is no way to turn off notification summaries for specific app categories, such as news, productivity, utilities, shopping, travel, and finance. Apple said in January that it would issue a software update to show that notification summaries are generated by AI and that there may be some errors.
