Withings’ Omnia is a full-size body-scanning health mirror

The Omnia is still very much in concept mode – a popular phenomenon in the automotive world that is starting to spread to consumer electronics. That means, Withings’ splashiest product from CES 2025 might not even be a product. Among other things, body-scanning smart mirrors will be expensive for consumers. According to Withings, Omnia “is not just a product – it’s a transformative experience that represents the possibilities of digital health.” Of course, the notion of a full body health scan every day attracts potential customers. However, it will come after ten years of failed smart mirror projects. The “conceptual product” will offer a 360-degree body scan, giving users insight into their weight, as well as heart and lung health. Other metrics like sleep, activity, and nutrition may come from wearables. The mirror itself will be interactive through touch, plus a voice assistant. Omnia can also be a telemedicine portal for health professions, which will have access to user metrics and provide advice. Withings says the system is “currently under development,” pending things like clinical reviews and additional AI features. But it added that some of the above features will be available in some form through the Withings app at some point later in 2025.
