Asia’s world cities may finally reopen to the world

Hong Kong, which calls itself Asia’s world city, has been closed to much of the world for more than two years. may finally open. This should alleviate some of the frustration in the business world, but a major tourism boom is yet to come.

Hong Kong may soon end mandatory hotel quarantines, according to local media. City chief executive John Lee said Tuesday the government is actively investigating whether there is room for adjustments to the quarantine arrangements. Visitors to the city are now required to self-quarantine at a hotel for three days upon arrival, followed by four days of self-monitoring. Reportedly, it could be replaced with seven days of self-monitoring.
