A freight train carrying hazardous materials derailed on Saturday morning and started a fire near Lockwood, Maine, officials said. However, none of the hazardous materials on board caught fire, according to railroad and state officials.
A spokeswoman for Canadian Pacific Kansas City Limited (CPKC) said the train was shut down in a rural, wooded area about 15 miles east of the town of Jackman after it derailed around 8:30 a.m. Eastern time. told CBS News that it had derailed.
